"I've
had TMJ (jaw) problems for 10 years with a lot of
pain in the neck and back and difficulties opening
and closing my mouth. When I started osteopathic
treatment with Caroline I was really surprised how
gentle it was. I could feel the benefit in all of
my body: more energy, less pain and the stress just
went away. I recommend this kind of treatment because
it is very gentle and it works". — D.L. |

Osteopathy is a holistic form of manual medicine that works
primarily through the physical structure of the body. It was
developed in the 1800’s by Dr. A.T. Still in the United
States. It works to relieve pain, improve mobility and restore
health, allowing the body to function more efficiently. Osteopathy
and cranial osteopathy are new to Canada although they have
been recognized and practiced in Britain, Europe, New Zealand
and Australia for many years. Osteopathy is allied with, but
not the same as, chiropractic or physiotherapy. A chiropractor
or physiotherapist use some different methods of assessing
and treating a patient. Osteopathy has its own unique philosophy.
This states that the body is a unified whole. On a practical
level, this means that problems in any one part of the body
will affect other parts. This is why osteopathy doesn’t
just treat a problem locally. It looks at the body as a whole
to find and treat the cause of a problem.
